Our Mission
The Africa Circle of Hope Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) organization, raises funds to provide aid and support to African women and children impacted by AIDS and poverty, so that they can develop the skills and resources to raise themselves out of poverty and improve their quality of life.
The Foundation programs are currently in East Africa, primarily in Kenya, in urban slums and poor rural areas.
This
picture represents the heart of our mission. These are some of the orphaned
and abandoned children who are now living in the Good Samaritan Children’s
Home in the Mathare Slums, just outside Nairobi, Kenya. These children
have found a caring place of shelter and hope even as they are surrounded
by overwhelming poverty, disease, and despair in the slums. The children
join hands on this day in a Circle of Hope.
The circle is one of the most common indigenous African symbols because it represents interconnectedness, unity, community and cooperation. We are all connected to that Circle of Hope held together in this place by these small hands. These young people are also our children and the hope for our collective future.
